Our Education System

What's Unique About our System?

Through Dorayme Music Education System, our little musicians not only learn music, but they also improve on their organisation skills, self-motivation, and self-discipline. Along the way, they also learn to work with other little musicians through music camps and other performing opportunities.
The purpose of the Dorayme System is to make their music learning journey more educational & fun!

At Dorayme, we believe in guiding students with a system that keeps parents informed through an annual plan accessible via Google drive. Students are encouraged to complete their Annual Basic Workload recorded in their Music Learning Planner on Google Drive.

Learning music is like learning a new language; the more you read, the better you get. Therefore, the more music you play, the faster you become in note-reading. 4 in a Pack is a unique system exclusive to Dorayme where students perform 4 pieces in one go (either in class mini concert or recording) to obtain a mini certificate. All the mini certificates will be displayed on a gigantic ‘4 in a pack notice board’ in our studio.Students will be awarded 4 in a Pack badge with the number of sets of mini certificates they’ve completed.
Holiday Music Camp is all about enhancing children’s music learning that could typically not be achieved in a standard lesson.Theory Camp is the ‘intensive’ version of the weekly Working Bees Theory Class with longer class time and contract to sign.
We give out Reward Badges to various activities including camps, theory grade completion, e-learning and other end of the year rewards (e.g. Most Promising). All these badges can be pinned onto the very long lasting Dorayme Canvas Bag.
The journey of piano learning can be a lonely one; therefore, we started House System to encourage little musicians earning House Points through practice and various activities. Your child will be randomly allocated to one of our 4 Houses when he/she enrolled with us.

The 4 Dorayme Houses are:
  • Cimarosa
  • Rachmaninov
  • Monteverdi
  • Scarlatti
Your child will be awarded House Points for their weekly practice (0-10 points). Every time they get 10 points they will get a ‘diamond’ on their attendance sheet. They can choose any one gift from the Gift Boxes for every 5 diamonds they get.
It is not compulsory, but we encourage your child to take up any opportunities to perform in public, whether at competitions, masterclasses, perform in concert outside Dorayme or at the Final Recital.Public Performance is one of the best ways to develop confidence.
To effectively master music as a language, we not only need to know how to read and play, but we also need to learn to write; this is where music theory comes in.We have 2 types of theory classes:

Working Bees Theory Class (Grade 1-5)
Objective: to obtain Grade 5 Theory Qualification: the pre-requisite to sit for Grade 6-8 Piano Exam.

Advance Theory Class (Grade 6-8)
For those who want to explore theory and music history more in depth.
For those who wish to join the Student-Teacher Programme Theory Teaching Department.

We injected elements of Music History into Dorayme students’ music learning through our E-Learning Department. Visit Dorayme YouTube channel to delve into different music history topics. You can either choose to just watch them leisurely or choose to take up the challenge by completing a set of questions - a designer BADGE on the topic will be awarded to you!
